VOLUNTEER
What Volunteers Do
Trauma Recovery/HAP aids human trauma recovery by training mental health professionals in EMDR therapies anywhere in the world. We build the capacity to treat psychological trauma in under-served communities by training local therapists in EMDR Part 1 and Part 2. Trauma Recovery trained volunteers, in co-ordination with local public and private community agencies, deliver these trainings.
Volunteers are also presenters for specialty trainings and Workshops, such as Trauma Recovery/HAP Traumatology & Stabilization.
Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, volunteers provide on-site support at training events including venue and breakout room set-up, training material organization, distribution, and event registrant check-in.
Facilitators are part of the training teams for Trauma Recovery/HAP’s EMDR Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 trainings. Facilitators provide supervision and support for the practicum that are key components of each EMDR training workshop.
Trainers lead the training process and the volunteer team at Trauma Recovery/HAP’s EMDR Part I and Part II trainings. Trainers are EMDRIA Approved Consultants with previous experience as facilitators in basic EMDR training.

Clinicians trained in EMDR Part 1 and 2 can join or start a local Trauma Recovery Network® (TRN®) or become an At-Large-Member! Our TRN volunteers support their community’s preparedness and disaster recovery efforts with pro bono therapy sessions.
