Update on Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton Responses
We are so thankful for our community of volunteers and supporters, and those new to HAP, who are reaching out to offer assistance. Thank you for being here!
We are currently in the planning and coordination stages of responding to communities in North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene. We are working with local contacts on the ground and current TRN coordinators and members in surrounding states. Very soon we will be sharing more details on the types of support needed, resources needed, and ways to get involved – both as a volunteer and a donor. We are calling on our TRN members nationwide to assist with this response. North Carolina has waived some licensing requirements; however, it was left to each licensing board to offer specific waivers. We have reached out for clarity if and how other therapeutic professionals licensed in other states can provide services.
If you have reached out via phone, email or social media, thank you and please be patient with us. We have received an incredible amount of interest and an outpouring of support. We are working hard to read and respond to everyone.
We anticipate the need to coordinate a response to Hurricane Milton. We are beginning the initial outreach in anticipation of this natural disaster. At this time, this response is limited to the state of Florida, however, that could change in the coming days.
Right now, you can take the following actions:
